i had just moved to portland from seattle in the late summer of 2018 & was having a mental breakdown after a really bad breakup. i started work on this album in the fall of that year as a way to work through my feelings. i sent that version over to my friend evan & he very kindly told me i could do better so i went back to the drawing board. while working on this, i was listening to a lot of ade hakim, mike & the field & i wanted to make a beat tape that could be released on kompakt. this is one of my favorite albums that i've made not only for the music (the titles still make me smile) but also for the memories attached to putting this out. i hope that you enjoy.
