this album was inspired by a conversation i had with brad rose about pop music. pop for me brings back memories of hot dusty afternoons wandering around the air conditioned south coast plaza drinking orange julius in the food court & then stealing cd's from the sam goody to play at beach bonfires later that night in huntington. after talking to them, i fired up slsk & downloaded the first pop compilation that came up & got to work. i didn't force anything & let the beats kinda shape themselves into whatever forms they wanted to take. not everything worked out (i have about thirty beats no one will ever hear) but i had a lot of fun making this & i hope this soundtracks some summer moments for you.

It's always interesting seeing qualchan. splitting pieces up with more noisier, abrasive artists on his albums whenever they do. There's a nice contrast to be found between the more sporadic, experimental loops on the first half when you get to pair with a more cohesive force, like watching a thick darkness melt over onto a perfectly sculpted statue and create something oddly captivating. Fans of either experimental, industrial loop work and psychedelic tape manipulations will like this one. Cardian Matsu
